ROMEGA roe oil is made from MSC-certified Norwegian spring-spawning herring roe and is only harvested and produced in February and March each year. Perfect supply chain and quality control system, to ensure that from fishing to offshore factory processing within 24 hours.
Herring roe/caviar
The Norwegian spring-spawning herring (NSSH) belongs to the Atlantic-Skanders herring.
From February to March every year, they migrate to Møre and Vesteralen off the west coast of Norway to spawn, and then migrate to the Norwegian Sea to feed and grow. The hatchlings migrate north to the Balen Sea, where they grow for three to four years before moving south along the Norwegian coast to join the spring spawning school.

Maternal and Child Nutrition
Herring roe contains all the nutrients needed for life. The natural egg membrane effectively protects phospholipid Omega-3 fatty acids from oxidation and pollution. Norwegian spring-spawning herring has a high seed yield (~ 20% of body weight) and stable nutritional composition, which is not affected by environmental changes, and is an important source of natural phospholipid Omega-3.
Essential nutrients
DHA and EPA, essential fatty acids, have a wide range of brain, nerve, and visual health benefits.
Phospholipids, a major component of biofilms, are essential for maintaining cell and tissue integrity.
Choline, a component of biofilms, is a precursor to neurotransmitters.
Natural emulsification property
Thanks to the oleophilic and hydrophilic properties of phospholipids, the phospholipid DHA/EPA can be evenly dispersed in the gastrointestinal tract, easy to digest and absorb, without anti-odor.
High bioavailability
Phospholipid DHA can actively cross the blood-brain barrier and blood-eye barrier and direct nutrients to the brain and nerve cells. The absorption and utilization rate is 1.8-2.4 times that of other DHA.
What does it mean to be MSC certified?
The Marine Stewardship Council is an international non-profit organisation. We recognise and reward efforts to protect oceans and safeguard seafood supplies for the future. Our vision and missionWe want future generations to be able to enjoy seafood and oceans full of life, forever.
The MSC vision is of the world’s oceans teeming with life, and seafood supplies safeguarded for this and future generations.
The MSC mission is to use our ecolabel and fishery certification program to contribute to the health of the world’s oceans by recognising and rewarding sustainable fishing practices, influencing the choices people make when buying seafood and working with our partners to transform the seafood market to a sustainable basis.
